What should I expect during my first session at Summit Counseling?

Your first session will be a space to get to know each other, discuss what brings you in, and explore your goals for therapy. We’ll gather relevant background information and begin developing a personalized plan to support your growth and healing.

2

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Summit Counseling currently offers both in-person and secure telehealth sessions. We want therapy to feel accessible and comfortable for you, whether that’s in our welcoming office space or from the comfort of your home.

3

How long does therapy last?

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline for therapy. Some clients come for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term work. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and goals to ensure therapy continues to support you meaningfully.

4

What ages do you work with?

We provide individual therapy for clients ages 13 and up, as well as couples and family counseling for all life stages.

5

What types of therapy do you use?

Our approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and highly personalized. We draw from models like Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and family systems work to meet your specific needs.

6

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about exploring personal growth, therapy can help. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or navigating life changes, Summit provides a safe, supportive space to start the process.

7

Is what I share confidential?

Absolutely. Your privacy is deeply respected. Everything shared in session is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as concerns about harm to self or others, or court-ordered disclosures).

8

 Do you accept insurance?

Summit Counseling accepts:

  • BCBS

  • Aetna

  • Medcost

However, we can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend contacting your provider for specific details.

9

How often will I need to come to therapy?

Most clients attend sessions weekly or biweekly, depending on their goals and availability. We’ll collaborate to find a rhythm that works best for your life and ensures steady progress.
